I guess that\u2019s why they call it the Heavenly Lake.\u00a0 Tian Chi, as it\u2019s known in Chinese, is a sprawling crescent-shaped lake with glistening crystal clear waters that reflect the mood of the skies above. Named after the Pearl of the Heavenly Mountain (Tian Shan Mountain) surrounding it, the lake\u2019s pristine waters trickles down from the mountain\u2019s melted snow.<\/p>\n

The route to this scenic wonderland takes about 1.5 to 2 hours drive from Urumqi in the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Western China. Once you arrive at the area, you\u2019d need to leave your ride behind and go on foot for around half a mile through the trees to the lake. If you\u2019re not up for walking, a dollar can see you getting there comfortably on a golf cart.<\/p>\n

Summer throws on a gleaming sheen to the Heavenly Lake and its surroundings, making it the most ideal visiting time. Apart from gawking at the surreal sight, nature lovers can also go on an idyllic hike on the trekking trail on the eastern and southern areas.<\/p>\n

Fishing is also another common activity visitors engage in when at the Lake. Against the backdrop of the glowing mountain and vivid blue sky, even if you\u00a0didn’t\u00a0catch any fish, you\u2019d still be satisfied.<\/p>\n
